Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Scentify mobile app processes your personal data. The Turkish version, which also serves as the notice under Turkey's data protection law (KVKK), prevails.
1. Who we are

2. What we process
- Account: email address, name, username, profile photo and bio.
- What you share: posts and their photos, comments, likes, follows, direct messages, reviews and perfume performance votes.
- Collection and preferences: shelves, bottle details, wear journal, your scent DNA and onboarding choices.
- Location (only with your permission): your approximate location and city, to suggest a scent for the weather. Weather is requested from your device directly from Open-Meteo with approximate coordinates.
- Notifications (only with your permission): your device's push token and notification settings.
- Bottle scan photo: when you use photo recognition, the photo is sent to OpenAI to identify the perfume and is not stored by us. We count daily scans to prevent abuse.
- Safety records: reports, blocks, moderation actions and the technical logs needed to run the service.
We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and the app currently contains no analytics or ad tracking.
3. Why we process it
- To create your account and provide your collection, journal and social features (performance of a contract).
- Location-based suggestions and notifications (your consent, which you can withdraw in your device settings at any time).
- To keep the community safe, review reports and prevent abuse (legitimate interest and legal obligations).
4. Who we share it with
- Supabase (database and servers; data is stored in the European Union, Frankfurt).
- OpenAI (USA; only the bottle scan photo, for recognition). Under OpenAI's API terms this data is not used to train their models.
- Expo (USA; delivering notifications to your device).
- Open-Meteo (EU; weather, with approximate location).
Your posts and profile are visible to other users according to your settings (private account, who can message you, and so on).
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account), your profile, posts, uploaded photos and other data linked to your account are deleted. Minimal records required by law are kept only as long as necessary.
6. Your rights
You can ask whether we process your data, request access, correction or deletion, learn who it was shared with, object, and seek compensation. Write to destek@scentify.com.tr; we reply within 30 days.
7. Children
Scentify is not designed for children under 13.
8. Changes
When we update this policy we change the effective date and announce important changes in the app.
